Tis the Season… for Sports and Savings
Crack open your beer. Whip out the snacks. Invite the buds over. Summer is drawing to a close and fall is upon us, meaning it’s time to get serious.: it’s time for sports.
Whether you’re watching football, hockey, or whatever your sport(s) of choice is, from your couch, your friend’s couch, or in the actual stadium or rink, you best be sure you’re having a great time. What I mean is, you need to make sure you come stalked with lots of goodies: drinks, snacks, jerseys and props are essential for making the season the best it can be.
For example, if you’re watching the Dallas Cowboys live from the Cowboys Stadium, you should be wearing the navy and white jersey with pride. Or if you’re watching the Michigan Wolverines, for example, from the comfort of your own
Fresh Fall Beauty Bargains from Smashbox
Fall is a traditional season for fresh starts and new looks, and lucky for us it’s a fabulous season for the latest makeup trends. The weather is cooling down, and so is the fall color palette. This season, designers are favoring deep plums, cool shimmery silvers and smoky grays. Which happens to be a far cry from the natural bohemian neutrals from summer. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune updating your look! I have a few tips you can use to update your makeup collection for fall by pairing shades you may already have with the most current cosmetics from Smashbox. So grab your mirror and your makeup bag because we have work to do!

Vitamins from A to Z
Living in Venice Beach, California, I am fortunate enough to have the luxury of scooting down to the local market and ordering an acai smoothie with a vitamin C boost, or a fresh strawberry banana smoothie with a scoop of B-12, or even shot filled to the brim with wheatgrass- all of which contain essential vitamins that help keep my body and, thus, my health and nutrition balanced.
However, Venice is probably the anomaly. Not everywhere can you simply jaunt down to the local spot for a smoothie of your choice chalked full of nourishing vitamins. But it doesn’t mean you can avoid imbibing your essential nutrients! And even if you do have the privilege of having fresh smoothies around the corner, it can still be a challenge to make sure your body is soaking up all the
Haute Baggage
For those of you globetrotters out there, I don’t need to remind you that September is the quintessential time to travel. Summer is over, the air’s not as muggy, kids are back in school, tourists are tending their jobs, and it’s your turn to discover your destination in its purest state- sans photo-snapping tourists and crying kids. Traveling in September means you know how to travel with panache; you’re experiencing your destination as a local does, in its raw and purest form. And when you’re traveling with like this, you also need to travel in style.
Chic luggage is vital for the globetrotter. I realized this when I just turned eighteen at the tail-end of summer and was planning my first trip to London. Packing for my trip was hard enough, what with all the coats,
PJ’s All Darn Day!
You know how every neighborhood has a “cat lady”? You know, the lady who has an inordinate number of mewing, stinky cats running in and out of her house? Her hair is usually disheveled, she is usually over the age of 60, and you can smell the litterboxes from about a block up. Well in my old neighborhood, I used to be the dog-walking leopard-robe lady. Back then I worked from home, and so I had no reason to get out of my admittedly garish robe all day, since no one was going to be seeing me. I’d take my dog for her morning walk alongside people entering and exiting the building in their proper work attire, and get a few humored glances here and there. To boot, much like the cat lady, my sassy-when-styled bob was not quaffed for a night out, and often stuck up on the side I
