DIY Never Felt So Good
There was once a time when making your own clothes and furniture was considered shameful and a sign of poverty. That trusty DIY attitude caused children with homemade threads to be endlessly teased—but no more.
A far cry from the past, it now seems that resourcefulness and the do-it-yourself mentality is all the rage. Homemade clothes, curtains, apholstery—you name it—is accepted and even lauded these days. If you’re any good, that is.
Personally, I’m not any good, but that doesn’t mean that I’m clueless, either. My mom is quite handy with a sewing machine, and I have a number of friends that love to get creative and make homemade items.
For these creative types in my life, I know just where to head to fuel their tinkering habits: Hancock Fabrics. Committed to serving
Splash Into Summer with Some Pool Time
It’s been a pretty mild summer here in Los Angeles. We kept hearing about the ridiculously hot weather all around the country, but June gloom just seemed to stick around for us here. It wasn’t until a few days ago that we’ve begun to feel the effects of the summer sun. And let me tell you—the sun may have been welcome, but this heat certainly was not.
Seems to me you have one of two choices when faced with such indecent weather: stay in with the air conditioning and become a hermit for the entire summer, or show that heat it can’t get you down with tons of fun cooling activities. Kick Back In A Sac
If you are as old as I am getting (!) you remember the 80’s, at least a little. I was a small child in the 80’s and I’ve seen so many things come and go. These were times when kids watched TV instead of surfing the internet; when kids wore jelly shoes and shiny sating member’s only jackets. I played Atari, and then original Nintendo, when games where not yet first person. I listened to Madonna on my lilac tape player, and thought Wham was cool. I wore over-sized sweaters off one shoulder, and styled my bangs with a curling iron!
I especially remember my father’s covered pick-up truck, and the beanbag chairs we sat on back there on long rides. My sister had a beanbag chair in her room, where she sat to play games like Contra, Ninja Gaiden, and original Mario Brothers.
The Art of Living: Graduation Captured on Canvas
It’s that exciting time of year again…graduation. This is an especially important milestone in life, because it is one of the few we actually earn! Birthdays and holidays come every year, no matter what we’ve been up to, but graduation is a celebration of our actual achievements; a reason to celebrate indeed.
If you happen to know a student graduating high school, college, or graduate school, then you undoubtedly do have an occasion to commemorate. There are not too many times in life where our efforts are rewarded in such a way; graduation is well-earned opening of doors of opportunity. Anyone who has worked hard to get here deserves a giant pat on the back. And, if you are rather uncreative; an envelope of cash. However, here at 58Coupons, we think giving cash is a bit
